Keep It Classic With Black Pants!

2018 Corporate Style, Budget Shopping, Spring Fashion, Work Wear / Sunday, April 8th, 2018

When you think work clothes, what pops up in your mind? For me, its a pair of black pants, black pumps, and a white button down shirt. While that’s standard, its boring for my taste! I like to shake things up with my outfits, especially at work because that’s where I spend most of my time. In these five outfits, I am wearing my go-to black pants that I bought from H&M for only $10! I used to wear those baggy black pants with a boot cut. Thinking back to those pants, I felt frumpy in them. I took all the pairs I had with that shape out of my closet and threw them out! (JK, I donated them; throwing clothes out makes me cringe.)

Form fitting (they don’t have to be tight, but should not be baggy) ankle pants are my go-to style now. The cut around the ankle elongates your legs, the fit makes you look more slender, and you can wear either flowy tops OR tighter tops with them. With the old, baggy, boot cut pants, if you wear a flowy shirt its almost as if your whole body is lost in a sea of fabric!

The button up shirt beneath a sweater is making a comeback! When shopping, you’ll see a lot of these that are sewn together into one piece to buy. I made my own (and you can, easily, too!) by wearing my pink button up from TJ Maxx underneath a black sweater from White House Black Market. I loved the combo as it was, but I always like to add more, so I wore a gray blazer from Forever 21 and a long tied necklace from Charming Charlies. To match the pink button up, I wore my newer pink jeweled flats from DSW.

I found this sexy pink shirt at Charming Charlies! It’s never my go to store for clothes since they are known for accessories, but they do hold a small amount of clothing that are always really cute! I bought it in a bigger size so that I could tuck it in to the pants to make the outfit look more professional. The back of the shirt has a really cute crisscross at the top, so if you did decide to wear it out casually, it would be great on its own! I paired it with a beige blazer from H&M. the black pants, and a Calvin Klein peep toe heels.

I was lucky to partner with the Amazon Brand, MakeMeChic, and found this beautiful cold shoulder top. My favorite thing about it, besides the beautiful floral print, is that its versatile! I can wear it with a blazer for work, and then be ready to go out by leaving the blazer in the car to meet my coworkers or friends. I chose to keep the black color trend with my favorite pair of loafers from H&M with decorate studs for some extra detail. I’m so thrilled how this turned out!

This is another one from Make Me Chic! I have been trying to add more colorful pieces to my wardrobe and this was the most perfect addition. I paired it with my go- to crossbody bag from Banana Republic and wore it with a white tank top underneath. You could also wear a long sleeved white or light blue shirt underneath or a gray button down. Check it out on the link below!

I kept it simple for Friday by pairing the black and white striped top from H&M with a gray blazer, the black pants, and some black pumps. Classic but so chic and professional over all!

I found these awesome polka dotted pants from Forever 21 and had to have them. They are high waisted, which is a must for me in pants, and can spiff up an outfit so much. I kept it light with a blush pink tee and my pink Spring time jacket. Of course I had to add my matching polka dotted sunnies to complete the look.

I haven’t had overalls like these since I was 10! I am so glad that this trend is back. I am going to tell you why I love overalls and its not just because of their look. I don’t have to worry about my back showing or my pants falling down! It’s great. I also feel so artsy in them like I am going to go paint a mural or build a house =P. This whole outfit is courtesy of Forever 21!
